Oriole are what who we thought they where...

At the break the Orioles are 40-48 after 88 games that would equal a 73-89 record if the Oriole where to duplicate the rest of the way. 33-41 would be the record the rest of the way to get to 73-89. To get to 81-81 they would need to go 41-33. Not going to happen….

Some 1st half positives include rookies Brad Bergsen and Noland Reimold playing better then expected. Matt Wieters is now on the parent club and is playing so so ball but looks to have promise to be able to break it wide open late in the season. Everything else was pretty much predicted, pitching struggles, lack of a true cleanup hitter and so on. Most disappointing is the mental mistakes made by the 2009 Orioles. Base running blunders, not calling for fly balls, at times lack of wanting to play the game to win.

I look for the Orioles to try to correct the mental mistakes and possibly make a trade or 2 over the next few weeks. Aubrey Huff is the likely candidate to be moved as he can play 1st, 3rd, LF,DH and hit for power.
